Nomination submissions are officially open for the 2026 Client and Volunteer Community Action Awards, which will be presented during Michigan Community Action Legislative Day on May 20, 2026. This is your opportunity to recognize outstanding clients and dedicated volunteers who embody the mission and impact of Community Action in communities across Michigan. Award guidelines and nomination forms are available now, don’t miss the chance to celebrate the individuals who inspire our work every day. Submissions will be accepted through February 20, 2026.

Legislative Day 2025
On May 21, 2025, MCA hosted its annual Legislative Day at the Michigan Capitol. Some 100+ members of the community action family came together in Lansing to advocate on behalf of the people they serve and programs they operate. Meetings were held directly with dozens of legislators to advance our causes. During our program blocks, several legislators were featured as special guests; we also awarded our Legislator of the Year awards. Another highlight was honoring our Client and Volunteer of the Year awards. Several Client awardees spoke directly to the audience as they shared their stories of overcoming adversity with the help of community action.
